When I first heard that Crytek was making a mountain climbing game as one of their first forays into VR, I was a wee bit puzzled. Sure, I get the appeal, but making an entire game surrounding the concept of mountain climbing? Well, the truth is, they do a spectacular job of bringing a rare and elusive experience to a much wider audience of non-rock climbers like myself. You won't ever catch me scaling Half-Dome at Yosemite, but in VR I can live through a similar experience. My biggest single problem with this game is the price. I'd feel much better about it if the price was chopped in half.
