Star Child is a new third person, action/adventure side-scroller for the PlayStation VR. Gametrust is handling the publishing, with Playful, the makers of Lucky's Tale on the Oculus Rift handling development duties. Star Child seems somewhat similar to Bound, mixing far-away camera perspectives, with occasional tight close-ups. Playful is definitely taking advantage of the fact that VR is extremely good at conveying scale. A giant boss on a monitor or TV is one thing, but having to look way up into the air, at a boss the size of a skyscraper, is a completely different feel. There will be those that complain about 3rd person VR games not being what VR is all about, but at this early juncture, I think all VR is good VR. I like super immersive first person stuff just as much as the next guy, but variety is the spice of life!
