Hot Shots Golf VR headed to PSVR in 2019!
Golf and VR seem like such a natural. A marriage made in heaven, if you will. Yet, so far, we've only seen a single golf game released on Sony's PSVR platform. The HTC Vive and Oculus Rift have a number of golf games available, but on PlayStation VR, we're pretty much relegated to the disappointing 100ft Robot Golf. Well, all of that is about to change. Hot Shots Golf VR is coming to PlayStation VR in 2019!
PlayStation VR diehards have been pleading with Sony to bring the celebrated franchise to VR, and their prayers have finally been answered. Developer Clap Hanz, will be bringing Everybody's Golf to the Japanese PSVR market sometime in 2019, and hopefully the USA version won't be far behind. Everybody's Golf has been one of Sony's most celebrated franchises over recent years. Anyone that owned a PlayStation Vita during it's short lived run knows just how amazing this now classic franchise is. The Hot Shots Golf conversions to that platform were legendary. Now, Clap Hanz will be bringing the game to an entirely new medium.
Hot Shots Golf has always been a friendly and casual type of golfing experience, and the VR version is unlikely to stray from this formula. If you're looking for a super serious golfing simulation, look elsewhere. This is all about fast and fluid fun. Developer Clap Hanz is notorious for delivering a very snappy and responsive experience, with pinpoint accurate button presses and crystal clear sound effects. You can quickly get from shot to shot and hole to hole, completing an 18-hole course in record time. How all of this translates to VR is anybodies guess. Hopefully they concentrate on keeping the gameplay snappy and responsive, because waiting through loading times in VR can be especially tiresome.
We're certainly looking forward to getting our hands on this title at some point in 2019, and will be sure to keep you updated with any breaking news and info.
