Rez Infinite is a remaster of the 2001 cult classic with some exciting new bonus content added to the mix. The basic gameplay harkens back to the days of Panzer Dragoon on the Sega Saturn. You highlight enemies, and then send a shower of firepower at them. However, another huge part of this is syncing up every interaction with a musical score that seems to respond and expand with everything you do. Each time you lock on or shoot an enemy, it will register a subtle sound effect, and you'll find that your actions become intertwined with the rhythm and flow that the game is generating. It's a psychedelic experience that can provide near sensory overload at times. Of course, the real prize at the end of the rainbow is Area X. We can only hope that Area X is a prelude to a full blown Rez 2 designed to take every advantage of Virtual Reality.
