With the arrival of Virtual Reality, we naturally assumed that certain genres would be transformed forever. Some genres would gain so much from the new technology, that playing them any other way starts to seem downright silly. Brass Tactics is the first practical example of this. Once you get familiar with playing an RTS game with this level of control and freedom, everything else seems prehistoric by comparison. It's like this genre was absolutely tailor made for VR. Especially the Oculus Touch controllers. Hidden Path Entertainment has an absolute smash hit on their hands with this compelling strategy title. The only criticism I could possibly find for this game is that it might not be intricate enough for the hardcore RTS crowd. I guess they'll have to wait for Brass Tactics 2!
